Pelvic Wellness Center Opens Specialty Physical Therapy Practice In Eugene, OR
Eugene, Oregon (June 16, 2008) Pelvic Wellness Center, a physical therapy practice specializing in pelvic health issues, opened in Eugene on June 2nd. The practice serves a unique need in the greater Eugene area, providing specialty services to patients with pelvic pain and dysfunction as a result of aging, surgery, trauma and childbirth. Pelvic Wellness Center is owned by Judy Hoar and Shannon Forrestall, both physical therapists (PT’s). “Shannon and I have years of training and specialty work in the area of pelvic health, and have seen an increasing need for a specialty practice in the Eugene area,” states Judy. “Pelvic Wellness Center will finally provide a vehicle through which we can focus on the sensitive and often difficult pelvic issues that plague patients for years, simply because they don’t know where to go to get help.”
Pelvic pain and dysfunction, while most commonly afflicting the female population, also has an impact on a significant percentage of males. Because of the sensitive nature of the pelvic area, patients often live with pain or dysfunction rather than seek help because there is a general lack of specialty care available. Shannon states that, “by educating the public about pelvic pain and dysfunction, and creating an environment where patients can receive specialty care in a way that is comfortable and relaxed, we are improving the lives of many who didn’t even know that there was an answer out there.”
