iSALUS OfficeEMR Receives National Certification

by Ben Montgomery | February 12th, 2014 | No responses

iSalus Healthcare EMR EHRIt seems like just yesterday ( it was last November, actually) when we eagerly boasted of iSALUS Healthcare and its web-based OfficeEMR™ solution’s position on the 2013 Top 100 EHRs list compiled by Medical Economics magazine. The list positioned iSALUS within the top 10 percent of all EHR providers in the country – top 14 percent among all certified providers.

It turns out this announcement was simply a precursor of things to come. In late January of this year, iSALUS announced they were recognized in another significant way:

OfficeEMR™ 2014 has been tested and certified for Meaningful Use Stage II under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB). This means OfficeEMR™ is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“In terms of how this relates to Vantage as a partner and their clients as users, iSALUS is providing the highest level of certified software recognized by the government,” said Jessica Owens, marketing manager with iSALUS. “Moreover, it demonstrates iSALUS’ commitment to developing and providing the most advanced features and functionality for users.”

These valuable, time-saving features include a new clinical reconciliation feature that makes it possible for providers to automatically post a patient’s previous medications, allergies and other problems into his/her chart with a single click of the mouse. New decision support rules give providers the ability to build clinical alerts on seemingly unlimited criterion in order to flag issues on a patient’s chart.

“These features will fundamentally change healthcare by increasing the quality and speed of care delivery,” said Michael Hall, founder and CEO of iSALUS Healthcare. “It’s a very exciting time to be a part of healthcare reform.”

Achieving Stage 2 Meaningful Use certification puts iSALUS in elite company among the many EHR vendors on the market today. According to Owens, while nearly a thousand EHR vendors reached Stage 1, around just 100 vendors have reached Stage 2 certification.

“This certification is just the latest in a long list of reasons why we believe iSALUS offers one of the best and most robust EHR, practice management, and medical billing solutions on the market today, and why we’re proud to offer these solutions to our clients,” said Tannus Quatre, founder and CEO of Vantage Clinical Solutions.

“iSALUS understands the needs and challenges of the private practice owner and is always innovating with an eye toward improving the healthcare experience for both patients and providers,” Quatre continued. “They’re the embodiment of our mission here at Vantage: improving healthcare through entrepreneurship.”
