Graduating with a Master's degree from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) / San Francisco State University (SFSU) joint physical therapy program, Tannus has worked as a physical therapist in both California and Oregon, and has clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings including acute care, sports medicine, outpatient, inpatient, and home health.

Tannus holds a Master's in Business Administration from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, and has experience in healthcare administration in the non-profit hospital setting. At Duke University, Tannus emphasized a curriculum based in marketing and finance, receiving business training in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Tannus is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the nation's principal organization for practice management professionals. At Vantage, Tannus puts this extensive training to work through his role as lead consultant for Vantage Consulting.

On a daily basis, Tannus enjoys the diversity of working with clients on business planning and development, marketing strategy, and the implementation of lean operations into clinical settings. Tannus maintains clinical licensures and certifications as a licensed physical therapist in the state of Oregon, certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and credentialing as a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainer's Association. Tannus publishes regular content to PT Magazine, Impact, and Advance Magazine, and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Group to PT Magazine.

When away from work, Tannus enjoys the Central Oregon life with his wife and kids. Tannus spends much of his spare time on the hiking and biking trails of Central Oregon, traveling to sporting events, or playing music with his children.
