Online Marketing for Healthcare Providers


Description

The creation of a robust online presence provides a practice’s target audience with (1) a way to find you, (2) a reason to try you, and (3) a reason to stay (or come back).

This session will discuss the rationale for employing an online marketing strategy, the basics of online marketing, and will introduce the audience to the specific tools required to develop an online presence. Specifically, we will discuss social networking sites such as Facebook® and Twitter®, including how these sites are used by healthcare professionals to create a “community” around their practice, making their practice “sticky” and less likely for clientele to “jump” to another practice.

We will discuss the importance of the practice website, and the basic functionality required in order to “engage” clientele and future patients, and we will specifically discuss blogging strategies and how they can be used as a marketing tool and practice resource at the same time. We will also discuss pay-per-click advertising, and how private practices are using keyword search strategies to develop and grow clientele cost effectively. Finally, we will discuss how to develop an online strategy that is right for a practice of any size and budget.


Objectives

Upon completion of this presentation, attendees will:
  1. Understand how online marketing is being used by healthcare professionals to reach new audiences and retain current clientele.
  2. Be familiar with specific tools and online resources used to develop an effective online presence including Facebook®, Twitter®, Google AdWords®, blogs, and the company website.
  3. Understand the right portfolio of online tools to use for their practice based upon their specific resources, market, and budget.
